Make cute resin charms and doodads - school holidays
Time & Location
About the Event
Confession: I've never been able to make resin casting work for me. Measuring, mixing, and curing the 2 part stuff is messy, smelly, and way too precise a thing for me to ever get right. AND THEN, local resin artist Shantelle Adams come into my life and introduced me to a 1 part resin that cures under a UV light fast and easy, and I was hooked!
Come and meet Shantelle and she'll show you all her tips and tricks for making adorable charms, beautiful pendants, beads, crystals, and more. And I've got all kinds of cool things you can add into the resin to make them even more fun! We'll add Japanese washi paper, glitter, gems, tiny clock parts, stickers, and some stuff I probably haven't even thought of yet. And because it sets so fast, you'll be able to take all your goodies home with you.
This class is with: Sara and Shantelle
Suitable for age group: 8 and up (please ensure that your child is willing and able to listen to instructions on how to work with the resin to get the best results, as well as any safety tips)
Parent note: Yes, this resin is still a VOC and has a mild smell while it's being worked. If you've ever had a gel nail polish manicure, its kind of like that (its actually the same formula as the base and top coats). The studio will be well ventilated and the resin cleans up easily with isopropyl alchohol and baby wipes. And Shantelle and I will do a full run down on safety and best practice protocols before we start.
