About the event

We love guest teachers and these 2 are both awesome at what they do!

Some of you have already met Dan Kershaw and know how much he loves carving things out of wood. And sharing that love with all of you. And telling terrible jokes. For this workshop, Dan is teaming up with Launceston based print maker and Cool Mum, Lex Palmer-Bull. Lex likes to combine traditional printmaking with digital components and sculpture, and is inspired by minimalist architecture.

Dan will start the fun today by walking you through how to design and carve a block of wood. When it's ready, Lex will take over and teach you the basics of using your block to print designs on different kinds of paper and fabric.

BYO woodworking tools if you have them! But we will have some available for use on the day.

This class is with: Dan and Lex

Suitable for age group: 10 years and older

Parent note: It's definitely possible for kids as young as 8 to participate in this, however they will need to be supervised by a responsible adult for the the class as we'll be using sharp tools.
