Autumn is my favourite season - the cooler weather, digging out warm jumpers and fluffy blankets, and wandering around outside enjoying nature's warm earthy colours. Bliss! Autumn Art Camp is a celebration of all things autumn. We'll go bushwalking and hunt for cool rocks, weird sticks, pretty feathers, and crunchy leaves, and turn them into art! Here's what we'll be getting up to: Tuesday - We'll start by talking about Acknowledgement of Country - what is it, why do we do it, and how do we write one of our own. Then we'll build some teepees to shelter us from the sun and wind for the week and have a picnic lunch. After lunch we'll go for a bushwalk to find beautiful treasures for decorating our teepees and find ways to attach them. Wednesday - Let's spread the autumn love around our camp site! After our morning bushwalk, we will make mobiles and suncatchers to hang around the site. After lunch we'll do some weaving - little ones with forked sticks, giant ones between trees, and wherever else we can find! Thursday - This morning we have a special guest! Jas from The Forest Folk is visiting us and will show us how to make clay pinch pots, and some mini teepees for gumnut babies and banksia men. After lunch we'll go for a wander in the bush where we'll do some drawings of the bush and things in it using charcoal, and make collages using things we've found on the walk. Friday - Its dress up day! To celebrate our last day of camp we'll adorn ourselves in costumes and accessories we've made from the bush. Think crowns, wings, necklaces and bracelets. Decorate yourself or make gifts for your friends and family. I'm so excited to have this adventure with you all! It's going to be so much fun. Note: while I've called this a "camp", we won't actually be camping, it's just an American style Day Camp. Kids can be dropped off from 9:50am and picked up at 2pm each day. Grown ups are welcome to stay and play, too.
